Shakib vows to enjoy T20 campaign

Leicestershire all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan says the key to continuing their impressive record in the FL t20 competition is having fun.

The Foxes, who have won the event three times in its 10-year history, begin against Nottinghamshire on Friday.

Shakib, rated the world's top-ranked all-rounder in one-day internationals, told BBC Radio Leicester: "In T20, the main thing is about enjoying yourself.

Leicestershire won the domestic t20 competition in 2004, 2006 and in 2011. They are the only side to have the won the event three times, with Hampshire the only other team to have won it more than once.

"If you do that, more often than not you get success."

Bangladesh star Shakib, who bats left-handed and bowls left-arm spin, is Leicestershire's second overseas player for this summer's competition.

The 26-year-old will join Australia A batsman Joe Burns at Grace Road.

"We just need to play our game," Shakib added. "We have a huge amount of experience and that will help us immensely. I am very excited to be playing for Leicestershire."

BBC Radio Leicester will be providing live commentary of all of Leicestershire's FL t20 games this season, including the opening fixture against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge on Friday. You can hear the action on 104.9 FM, dab and online from 17:45 BST.
