Allen Approaching a Decision Talks Sooner Offer - Oklahoma [$$] (Rivals)

In recent years Oklahoma's presence in Houston has been a growing thing with more and more offers and commitments hailing from the biggest city in the Big 12 region. In the class of 2014 Oklahoma had been a bit quiet in 'Space City' but that seems to be changing and one of the signs of that change is the Sooners recent offer to Humble Summer Creek three-star linebacker Dakota Allen.

While it would be easy to think that Allen's offer was born out of the Sooners recent camp in Houston, allen, who already held offers from Colorado, Kansas State, Texas Tech, and Illinois among many others, had heard very little from Oklahoma prior to Tuesday.

"I had already known coming in that I wanted to commit. I just wanted to see the whole campus and just see the environment and talk to a few of the players. We were with coach (Tim) Kish the whole day. We just did a campus tour and we watched them work out a little bit. Then we watched this video and then I talked with coach Kish a little bit more," Evans said.

It was then during a conversation in Kish's office that the Sooner legacy decided to inform his future position coach that he was ready to be a Sooner.

"I was in coach Kish's office and he was talking and saying how the linebackers were in the program and he was like, 'we really want to get you on board'. And I just said 'I'm sold coach and ready to be a Sooner'," he replied.

Kish immediately started to inform other coaches on the staff including head coach, Bob Stoops and offensive coordinator, Josh Heupel, who also had a hand in recruiting the Lone Star State's No. 85 overall prospect, though he was the target of a joke Kish decided to pull.
